(From our correspondents in Sydney) – "Sydney can’t wait to greet the Pope", this is one of the most significant headlines in the special supplement that the "Sydney Moring Herald", one of the most important Sydney newspapers, dedicated to Benedict XVI’s arrival, which is scheduled for today at Barangaroo bay. Once again, sexual abuse victims are mentioned in the front and fourth page of the same daily, while amongst the curiosities of this WYD we learn that the Italian heavy-metal band "Metatrone" played yesterday during the Italian celebration. The "Daily Telegraph", the event’s official newspaper, published a sweet image of Benedict XVI in the front page, showing the Holy Father while he is petting a koala, and defines today’s event as Super Thursday". In the following pages, one story is dedicated to the official arrival and the scheduled itinerary. And lastly, the story entitled "A city united by faith", where a map of Sydney is shown with tiny flags representing all nationalities present in the city. "The Australian" reports on the Pope’s visit only in one page, talking about "not too sensitive comments" made concerning a sexual abuse case perpetrated by a priest against two sisters, one having killed herself last year.
