For the Swiss young people who could not go to Sydney for the World Youth Day, two initiatives have been organised: the "Theomania" for French-speaking young people, and the "Sydney online" for the German-speaking ones. The "Theomania" is a festival held in Saint-Maurice by the Swiss French WYD Committee (17 – 20 July) with events, workshops, concerts, shows, conferences, exchanges of experiences (Daniel-Ange, sister Emmanuelle from Cairo, actor Clarence Gilyard, Alexander Ogorodnikov a former convict in the Russian Gulag), moments of prayer and live link-ups with the WYD in Sydney: the vigil of prayer and the final Mass of the World Youth Day. On the night of Wednesday 16th July, there will be a link-up with the Swiss young people who are in Sydney. The "Sydney online" is held in Cazis from July 19th to 20th, hosted by the Dominican Nuns’ community. The schedule includes catecheses, common prayers, moments of sharing and partying and live link-ups with Sydney for the Saturday night vigil and the final Mass of the WYD.
