(From our correspondents in Sydney) – "Nowadays the young are looking for lofty truths, they are not afraid of big ideals, they must be able to propose them to their peers simply but with great conviction". It was said today by the President of the Italian Bishops Conference, card. Angelo Bagnasco, as he officiated Mass in the parish church of the Holy Family in Mauritius, where the flight that is taking him to Sydney for the WYD had to stop over. During the rite, co-celebrated with 16 bishops, the cardinal, with reference to the day’s Gospel, exhorted "the Christians to take position by combining truth and love". Bagnasco is flying with 300 boys and girls from the Italian regions of Marche and Lombardy. Tomorrow, the president of the Italian Bishops Conference will give a press conference at Casa Italia, in Sydney (Hotel Radisson, 12 am).
