And a web TV channel, named PfUeTv (French Presidency of the European Union), with newscasts about the highlights of the six months’ term. This is the website of the current presidency of the EU Council (www.eu2008.fr), which from 1st July until 31st December has been taken over by Paris’s government. The website provides information on EU meetings, leading characters, working documents. The difference from the previous websites is that it contains materials and articles in five official languages: in addition to the traditional English, French and German, Italian and Spanish are available as well. In addition, from now on, the EU Commission has updated its Internet Press Room, serving all the EU institutions (http://europa.eu/press_room) with materials in three languages English, French and German , even if a few documents are written in the 23 official languages of the Union. Access to the virtual pressroom is free, to make the work of the EU institutions "transparent", except some services that are only accessible to the accredited press in Brussels.
