April 17th will start with Holy Mass in the Nationals Stadium in Washington (10 am), with the Pope’s homily, then at the end of the celebration the Pope will be driven to the Catholic University of America in Washington, for a meeting with the Catholic university community (5 pm) and the Holy Father’s speech. At 06.30 pm, he will meet leaders of other religions at the John Paul Cultural Centre in Washington, where the Pope will give another speech, then in the evening he will go back to the apostolic nunciature in Washington, from which he will take his leave the day after (7.50 am), after saying Mass in private. April 18th is the day of New York, where he will arrive at 9.45 am at international airport John Fitzgerald Kennedy, then he will fly to Manhattan by helicopter, arriving at 10.30 am at the heliport in Wall Street, and will be driven to the United National headquarters for a visit (10.45 am), followed by a speech at the UN General Assembly and a greeting to the UN staff. In the afternoon (6 pm), the Pope will have an ecumenical meeting in the Church of St. Joseph ìn New York and will give a speech, then at 07.30 pm the Pope will have dinner with the US cardinals, the Catholic bishops and the Pope’s retinue in the Pope’s residence in New York.
