"Wanting respectful and effective dialogue with the Chinese civilian authorities": it was repeated during the meeting in the Vatican, from 10 to 12 March, of the Commission established by Benedict XVI to "study the most important issues that concern the life of the Church in China. It has been announced today by a release from the Newsroom of the Holy See. The meeting was focussed on the Letter that the Holy Father sent to the Chinese Catholics on 27th May 2007, in particular "the reception" given to the Papal document "within and without China". Then they "reflected on the theological principles that inspire the Letter to understand the prospects that can come out of them for the Catholic community in China". (continued)
