BENEDICT XVI: INTERVIEW WITH THE PRIME MINISTER OF LUXEMBOURG ABOUT LIFE ISSUES

This morning Benedict XVI received in audience the Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Jean-Claude Juncker, who then met mgr. Dominique Mamberti, Secretary for the relations with the states. "During the friendly talks – states a note from the Newsroom of the Holy See – they recalled the good relations that exist between the Catholic Church and the Grand Duchy and spoke of some issues of common interest about the current situation of the country. They specifically referred to the defence of human life and the current legislative process aimed at deregulating euthanasia. Attention was paid to the international situation, in particular the future of Europe, the Middle East and the presence of Christians, the conflicts that are going on in several parts of the world, and inter-religious and intercultural dialogue".
