” ” The studies on children protection systems carried out in the five above-mentioned countries within the research project "Life after institutional care", promoted by the Association Friends of the Children and co-financed by the European Commission, pointed out the difficulty to get correct information on the living conditions of youth at the time when they leave the state protection system. "All those five countries stated Filippo Agostino (Association Friends of the Children) seem to miss the proper stage for the passage from the assistance of the minor to the entry into the life of the adult; social private entities take care of that". Among the main areas of intervention in the research project, there are: "identification and promotion of programmes meant to avert the conditions of social exclusion of care-leavers; identification of social, economic and psychological indicators capable of supplying a framework for estimating the effectiveness of services in favour of youth at risk, as well as exchange of good practice and innovative services amid European local public institutions and social services".
