"The love of God in the love of one’s neighbours" is the theme of the meeting that will take place in the Vatican on November 4th and 5th with the delegates of the 138 authors Muslim intellectuals and religious leaders, headed by the Prince of Jordan, Ghazi bin Muhammad bin Talal of the Open Letter "A common word between us and you". The news was given to the Episcopal Synod this morning by cardinal Jean-Louis Tauran, president of the Papal Council for Inter-Religious Dialogue, during the eighteenth general congregation. A report on today’s synodal assembly has been given by L’Osservatore Romano. "As to the meeting with the Muslims states an article in today’s issue of the newspaper of the Holy See , the cardinal highlighted that this process has not been started recently, after such Letter from the 138. It actually dates back to many centuries ago. And, as to inter-religious dialogue, the cardinal wanted to point out that the fundamental text remains the council’s declaration «Nostra aetate». The meetings that followed and that will follow the Letter are certainly to be considered very important, but they must be given their right value". (continued)
