Theatre serving the defenceless. This is what will happen today, October 13th, in Madrid, where tonight the Häagen-Dazs Calderón Theatre will host a charity gala, with a staging of "Willy Fog’s world tour. The musical". The show, which is targeted to families, takes inspiration from the famous cartoon of the same name. The funds raised during the show will be given to "Peace messengers", an NGO founded in 1963 by Father Angelo García. The NGO will use the funds raised during the gala for the upkeep of the House of Peace, a centre that has been recently opened to house children who are victims of conflicts or natural disasters as they stay in Madrid to receive medical care to heal their wounds or diseases. Part of the funds raised during the reruns of the musical will be given to "Peace messengers", which works in Spain and in another 37 countries across the world in welfare programmes, such as the protection of children, care for the elderly and for physically and psychically disabled people, women who are victims of domestic violence. In addition, it promotes medium- and long-term cooperation schemes and offers help to countries that are in distress after natural disasters.
