"Sending thousands of emails to Prime Minister Zapatero, asking him to include abortion in his request for a worldwide moratorium on death penalty". The initiative, aimed at involving all Spanish citizens who have life at heart, starts from the "The right to live" platform, launched by the association HazteOir.org (www.hazteoir.org) for the right to life and women’s right to have an alternative to abortion. Gádor Joya, spokesperson for the "The right to live" initiative, points out that "President Zapatero has a wonderful opportunity to give effectiveness to his statement against death penalty in front of the United Nations. He must only be consistent and order the Equality Minister to withdraw the plan to authorise free abortion in Spain". The website of HazteOir.org contains a facsimile letter with this invitation to Zapatero, which must be signed and directly sent to the Cabinet mailbox. "Citizens who wish to do it may fill in the form, add a personal message and send it automatically to President Zapatero: all this, in just a couple of clicks", states the association.
