The Social Agenda developed last July, which will be addressed by the Paris summit, includes measures to extend the fight against discrimination to include access to goods and services, the protection of health and education. In opening the Paris Summit, the EU Commission presents the statistics collected by Eurobarometro, on which the participants will be asked for their opinion. "The Europeans estimate that discrimination will remain currency in their countries, especially regarding sexual behaviour (51%), disability (45%), age (42%) and religion (42%)". This survey also showed that "one European out of ten state they have witnessed one deed of discrimination", while 48% of the interviewees "think the measures taken to fight this problem are still too feeble". The proposals submitted by the EU Commission through the Social Agenda in this sphere will be discussed on October 2nd during the EU Council with the Labour and Welfare Ministers of the 27 member states.
