French Catholics and Evangelical Protestants will celebrate ten years of dialogue in Paris on Thursday 25th. The star of the event is the workgroup, which was established in 1998 and is currently composed of 12 members, six from the Catholic Church (qualified by the French Bishops Commission for the Unity of Christians) and 6 pastors from the Evangelical Churches. For ten years reads a joint release , the members of the group have built a dialogue "with a view to progressing towards a greater understanding of the specificities of each one and hoping in a deeper faithfulness to Christ and to His Word". The anniversary will be celebrated during a public conference which will be attended by the bishop of Nanterre, mgr. Gerard Daucourt, and professor Heri Blocher, who is a member of the International Commission for Dialogue between the World Evangelical Alliance and the Catholic Church. Since 2001, the group has been working at a presentation of the Evangelical Church for the Catholic public. The document, which is called "A look on Evangelical Protestantism in France", was published in August 2006 to make the evangelical presence in France better know to the Catholic world. Today, the workgroup has chosen evangelisation as the focus of its reviews and research.
