"It is amazing to notice that European citizens take the question of climate change so seriously". This confirms that "a constant and consistent community action is necessary in this field". Margot Wallstrom, vice president of the Commission, commented also the survey by Eurobarometer. From the data, we can see that, for the interviewed, the problem is serious but at the same time, "it can be solved". According to 56% of the sample, the fight for environment protection may have positive effects on the economic level, too. On the other hand, Wallstrom worries about the fact that 40% of citizens declare to be "badly informed" on climate and energy, as well as on the following community policies. The Europeans it is said in the document drawn up by Eurobarometer are convinced that several subjects do not do enough to fight climate changes: among those, first of all, there are enterprises (76%), followed by the citizens themselves (67%), national governments (64%), and the European Union (58%).
