The funerals of the victims of the Barajas air crash are being celebrated this evening in Madrid (Almudena Cathedral – 8 p.m.). Card. Antonio María Rouco Varela, archbishop of Madrid and president of the Spanish Bishops’ Conference, will preside over the celebration. About 150 people died in the air crash happened last August 20th. The funerals, initially fixed on September 1st, were postponed to today owing to difficulties in the body identification process, which took a long time.
