” “Great applauses and standing ovation for the world premier of the musical "Rachel", which gives a modern interpretation to biblical contents. It was presented yesterday, 10th August, at Trier. The musical, a project of the Centre for the Marienburg youth formation of the diocese of Trier and Euregio (the union of the dioceses of Trier, Luettich, Luxemburg, Metz, Nancy, Troyes and Verdun) was created specifically for the Cologne World Youth Day. 58 artists from different Countries sing in the different official languages of the World Youth Day: English, French, Spanish, Italian and German. They expect to have over 15,000 spectators at the performances which will take place in Trier alone. Other performances are to be held in Cologne during the World Youth Day as well as in France, Belgium and Luxemburg. "Rachel is a sign of the freshness of faith", commented Monsignor Reinhard Marx, bishop of Trier, underlining the tradition of the Catholic Church in joining music and dancing to the proclamation of faith.
