XX WYD: YOUNG ITALIANS MEET PILGRIMS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AT TRIER

” “350 arrived at Trier by coach yesterday evening for the twinning with the German Diocese; another 100 will go directly to Cologne: they are young people from the archdiocese of Chieti-Vasto, guided by Don Pietro Santoro, director for young pastoral care of the diocese. "This morning – said Don Santoro – we celebrated solemn Mass with the Archbishop of Trier and his co-celebrants in German, Italian, English, French and Spanish, in which 3,000 people participated. Young people from different countries took part, including from South America". For Don Santoro, a beautiful aspect, "in addition to hospitality by German families", is "the possiblity to mingle international friendships". Young people from the dioceses of Acireale, Agrigento and Cefalù  left yesterday morning by a special train for Stuttgart, where they arrived this afternoon. "This morning on the train – explained Don Vittorio Rocca from Acireale – we celebrated Mass on the broadcast radio. The long journey was an opportunity for the 500 pilgrims to get to know each other and live a moment of communion". In Stuttgart, the young Sicilians, who will be guests with families of the different deaneries of the diocese, will have the opportunity to take part in the parish activities, meet German and Italian immigrants of their own age.
