XX WYD: YOUNG PILGRIMS FLOCKING TO GERMANY FROM ALL OVER EUROPE

” “A peaceful invasion: it’s that of the about 20,000 young Italian pilgrims, who from now on will land in Germany for twinships with the German dioceses: from Novara to Cefalú, from Trieste to Cosenza, the boys and girls who have left yesterday and today by train, bus and airplane will meet the people and the landscapes of Germany, from the North and Baltic Seas to the Alps, from Aachen to Dresden. As well as finding out about the habits, the food, the natural sights and the monuments, they will exchange opinions with their peers about the way they live faith. The host families too will learn more about the life of young Christians from all over Europe and the rest of the world. These days, Germany is actually waiting for pilgrims from France, Ireland, Portugal, Romania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Hungary, Macedonia, Poland. In particular, 50 young people will come from Cracow, the city of John Paul II. And more pilgrims will come from other continents: America, Oceania, Africa, Asia. For all of them, the guest dioceses have developed a program for the days of the meetings, in conjunction with those institutions that promote activities for the young.
