XX WYD: TOMORROW AT THE ESSEN STADIUM THE YOUTH GREET THE GERMAN DIOCESE

Celebrations at the Essen stadium where the youth can sing, dance, listen to witnesses and greet the German diocese which, in the last few days, on the occasion of the twinning that precedes the 20th World Youth Day, has hosted the young people who have come here from Italy, Congo, the Dominican Republic, China and Hong Kong. The event will take place tomorrow and more than 10 thousand youth are expected. In the last few days, the Italians who have come to Essen from the diocese of Rome have been hosted by families of Italian origin. These families emigrated to Germany at the time of the economic boom, "but they have never really become fully integrated", say the Salesian Fathers of the Italian Catholic Mission of Essen, who accompany the 15 thousand Italians living in the German diocese on their journey of faith. "It is difficult for them to change this situation – say the Fathers – German is a difficult language, however they do all they can to have access to the vocational training courses so as to learn a trade and be able to work".
