In commenting on the recent terrorist attack Jahyas stated: "This is not a religion war. Evidence of this is the fact that the Islamic leaders immediately dissociated themselves from these attacks. Even the consequences are not religious but racial. Indeed, the result is fear for the colour of other people’s skin". The 20th World Youth Day will also be an ecumenical event and in this regard, this young man recalls his experience in London: "Catholics, Anglicans and Protestants live together peacefully in London, and indeed I have friends of different confessions and we often discuss religious issues together". He also spoke to his friends about his plans to participate in the WYD: "I told them of my decision to come to Germany instead of going on holiday, and they were happy for me because they felt that this would undoubtedly be a wonderful experience".
