"Throughout his life John Paul II prayed constantly for peace says Joanna Paruzel, a 23 year old Pedagogy student from Rybnik (Poland)- and he promoted various initiatives, like the meetings with religious leaders. Even though he is no longer with us, I feel his spirit is here". And the Polish student goes on to say "it is up to us young people to continue spreading John Paul II’s message of peace across the world". How? "Each one of us says the young girl must feel responsible for peace and therefore cooperate in order to achieve it by having serene relationships in the family, at school, with one’s friends". The WYD as a model of communion amongst peoples: this is the proposal made by John Dalton, a nineteen year old student from Crawley (England). "With this great gathering says this young man we can show that faith can bring together people from different countries, different cultures and different languages. Peace is possible if we all become more engaged, young people and adults alike, rulers and the man in the street".
