Praying for Africa, in particular people suffering from HIV and AIDS, who in their country, in South Africa, have hit over 6 million people (about 40 million in the whole of Africa). The 155 young South Africans who are taking part in the WYD in Cologne have this morning experienced in this way their national Meeting in the church of Herz Jesu in Cologne, on the initiative of the South African Bishops’ Conference. "The main reason for this meeting explained Cardinale Wilfrid Fox Napier, Archbishop of Durban to SIR is to join together the young South Africans and to pray for people suffering from AIDS and HIV". The Church of Durban, together with other dioceses, is directly involved in this battle, especially with regard to education. "We have groups of young people said Cardinal Napier to whom we propose a change of life through abstinence and faithfulness". Of course, this is not an easy task "but if young people mutually support each other, they will finally realise that this change of life is the real solution to the problem". (continues)
