Frére Roger, continues Father Bianchi, was also "a great witness of the unity of the Church, a pioneer since the World War Two. It is up to us to continue his efforts". The prior of the Bose community is however optimistic: "The community of Taizé will go on: the seed sown by frère Roger will keep sprouting. Many people will feel in their hearts the fire of his charismatic lessons". According to Bianchi, "the death of frère Roger will cast a gloom over the youth of the XX WYD, but, from the perspective of the Christian faith, his tragic death will make us look at him, who spent his life for Christ down to the end, as at a spiritual model".
