Youngsters from five continents who compare ideas and experiences on important themes of justice and peace, "because the WYD is an important appointment for believers who do not forget about the world and its problems". This afternoon 300 participants in the World Youth Day met in the auditorium of Dreikönigen Strasse in Cologne for "a broad debate explained Labonté, among the promoters of the initiative called International Youth Hearing for Justice and Peace. There were five main priority points: right to education and work; right to health; right to food; a world of peace; protection of creation". The speakers invited to the event also included Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul, the German Minister for Development. Don Andreas Mauritz, a German priest, who was also among the organisers, explained: "We wanted to provide young people with with the possibility to exchange opinions and witnessing on basic and primary needs which concern humanity today. The floor was first of all given to the youngsters, who often do not have a chance to express themselves in society". During the meeting a "charter of intentions was handed out on themes regarding development, social justice and protection of the environment. "The aim of the event added the organisers is to draw up together some solid points on behalf of the catholic youth in order to build a world of peace and justice based on experienced realities in the countries of origin, where each person will then have to commit himself or herself".
