XX WYD: CATECHESIS. MGR. NICHOLOS (GREAT BRITAIN), MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICES

"There are two laws: the one of the earthly world, which says "have only your own interests at heart", and the one of the Lord, which says "listen to and follow my lesson". We have to try, through our choices, to do His will. But He Himself will lead us along the way, during which He will be near us, loving us anyway for what we are". This was said by mgr. Vincent Nichols, archbishop of Birmingham, Great Britain, to the English boys and girls at today’s catechesis in the church of San Theodor in Cologne on the occasion of the XX WYD. Along the walk of life, added the bishop as he spoke to the young, "you have to stop from time to time and look at the choices you have made, and see if they have brought you closer to the Lord. And, along the way, we have to be on the side of our brothers and sisters, and look after the people who are less fortunate than us. The choices you make every day – he concluded – must be taken by playing a proactive part in the Mass, by listening to the lessons of our family, the Church, and of our father, God. Even during the WYD, make the right choices, along the way that for a few days you have to share with other boys and girls".
