"We are here to bear witness to our faith". This is how two young Turks, Omar Servisoglu, 26, and Yasemin Fidan, 26, explain to Sir their decision to take part, along with another 31 Turkish boys and girls, in the XX World Youth Day. "I decided to come to the WYD, first of all to meet Pope Benedict XVI – says Yasemin but also to bear witness to my choice of faith. Taking part in the church celebrations makes my soul feel free, strong, at peace". The XX WYD is also an ecumenical event: "In Turkey tells Omar there are a few problems with the Muslims, but by talking we can always solve everything. What counts for us is the human being".
