XX WYD: THE DISABLED, PRAYER AT THE CONFERENCE CENTRE BEFORE THE LINK-UP WITH MARIENFELD

A special programme has been organized this evening for the disabled who are unable to be present at the vigil with the Pope at Marienfeld. A moment of prayer is begun at 7 p.m., in Hall 3 of the Kölnmesse Conference Centre, led by priests in various languages, before the live link-up at 8 p.m. with Marienfeld. For the vigil with the Pope the volunteers and assistants who speak languages will be translating for them while sign-language interpreters will be translating for the hearing-impaired.
So far, 80 disabled youth have signed up at the ad hoc service points, to follow the vigil at Marienfeld, and beds have been set up for them. The disabled pilgrims who have come so far for the World Youth Day amount to 16,000.
