XX WYD: THE SYMBOLS OF THE VIGIL AND THE LAST EUCHARIST IN MARIENFELD(2)

The altar, the ambo, the chairs of the Pope and of the concelebrants have been partly built by the young as part of a professional training course. The flowers too, which make up a star along the two bends of the course of the procession leading to the central hill, are a message: they point at the focus of the ceremony. A special wooden WYD logo has been made by the boys and girls of the occupational therapy department of the prison of Munich. At the end of the last celebration, some young people will receive the split parts of this logo from the hands of the archbishop of Cologne, cardinal Joachim Meisner, and of the general secretary of the WYD, Heiner Koch.
