"We are all going back to our daily lives: to our families, our friends, our parishes, our schools, universities and places of work". This was said by a young participant at the end of Holy Mass in the Marienfeld area. Before the blessing, the representatives of the 5 continents were given the logo of the 20th WYD consisting of five elements. "May you be accompanied by Jesus Christ, the light of the world that you can follow. Be bright examples of His love, especially where people suffer and experience moments of darkness in their lives", these words were spoken in handing over the star. And in giving the blue "C" an elliptic arch that stands for Christ and for the universal communion of the Church in the world: "Those who meet you should see that Christ lives in you". The symbol of water represents the invitation of being "full of life" and of letting oneself be "directed by Him". And then the towers of the Cathedral of Cologne that witness the search for God throughout the centuries. "Just as these towers are a sign in the world, be signs yourselves, be living stones". And finally the Cross: "May the Cross always be the sign of the light that you follow, accepting to carry your cross and helping others to carry theirs".
