"Responsibility for fair listening and faithful telling, to offer, in fulfilling professional rules and criteria, elements that may help form a free judgement" and "the will to give a truly new contribution to information, in our country and in our Europe": these are the two factors that have always been the distinctive signs of the work carried out by SIR agency. This was recalled by mgr. Giuseppe Cacciami and Paolo Bustaffa, President and Director of SIR, respectively, in a leading article about the "eighteenth anniversary" of the Agency, which falls today. The Agency publishes on line several services, such as: SIR Italia; SIR Europa (in Italian and English); SIR Quotidiano (daily news selected among those of global relevance are translated into English in real time). Today, the article reads on, "Sir renews its commitment to read current affairs in connection with memory, to grasp the fragment without ripping it out of its whole, to give value to the local experience in a dialogue/confrontation with the national, European and global dimensions". Finally, commented mgr. Cacciami and Bustaffa, "we are increasingly convinced that one cannot be a journalist without keeping working on oneself, without taking responsibility for thinking and for the hard work of trying out new but not limiting languages of the message, without feling free in one’s belonging".
