The subjects are those pointed out in the Charta Oecumenica, the document signed by the Churches of Europe in Strasbourg, in 2001, that is, faith unity, relations with Islam, interreligion dialogue, deepening of the relationship with Hebraism, safeguarding creation, contribute by the Churches to the process of European integration, migration and globalization. ” “This morning, the secretaries general of the two organizations promoting the initiatives presented the Third European Ecumenical Assembly, which would take place in Sibiu (Romania) from 4th to 8th September 2007, in those terms. The secretaries general are Monsignor Aldo Giordano from CCEE (Council of European Bishops’ Conferences) and Reverend Colin Williams from KEK (Conference of the Churches of Europe). Giordano and Williams spoke to the 150 delegates of the Churches and Bishops’ Conferences, gathering in Rome in these days, to foster the process of preparation for the Assembly in Sibiu.
