ECUMENICAL ASSEMBLY: FRERE ALOIS (TAIZÈ), “HELPING THE YOUNG FIND DIRECTION IN LIFE”

“The young should find their roots in the Church and at the same time be open to others. People who have responsibilities in the Church should help them find direction in life". This is the suggestion of frère Alois Loeser, prior of the Community of Taizè, who took part in the meeting in preparation of the Third Ecumenical Assembly of Sibiu (Romania) which closes in Rome today, promoted by the Council of the European Bishops Conferences and the Conference of the European Churches. “It is very important that we listen to the young – said to Sir frère Alois -, because there is a lot of spiritual search going on among them. But often they do not search in their tradition, in the Church, and go search elsewhere. Instead, the young should find their roots in the Church and at the same time be open to others. The young today wonder about the meaning of life, what direction they should give to their existence. We, who have responsibilities in the Church, should help the young find direction in their life, taking inspiration from faith “. (to be continued)
