At the end of the prayer, each one of the 150 delegates lit a candle. "We symbolically bring this light said mgr. Amédée Grab, president of Ccee in our countries and in our communities. It will be a Light for Europe". This marked the end, this morning, of the meeting that from January 24th to 27th gathered in Rome 150 delegates from 44 European countries to kick-start the preliminary journey that will take the Churches of Europe to the Third Ecumenical Assembly of Sibiu in 2007, about "The light of Christ shines on everyone. Hope of renewal and unity in Europe". "Over these days said mgr. Vincenzo Paglia, co-president of the Preparatory Committee for Ccee Rome has been richer for the presence of your and what you stand for. We did not want to show you a perfect Rome, which does not exist, but make you feel the warmth of love". "We have seen said at the press conference Colin Williams, Secretary General of Kek that the best way to walk together is through friendship, recognising one another as brothers and sisters in Christ with the same hopes and the same wishes. Here, in Rome, men and women have met and have discovered once again that what unites them is much more than what divides them. We have not hidden the differences, but we have worked honestly. This honesty is a sign of hope, as it shows we are willing to move on along the ecumenical journey". (to be continued)
