” “A film festival to celebrate the art, culture and contribution of the Rom ethnic group to European society. It is an initiative of the Council of Europe (CoE), which has organised a sequence of seven screenings at the international "L’Odissea" cinema in Strasbourg, from 1st to 4th November, followed by debates and meetings coordinated by experts and delegates from the CoE. The event has been developed by Gadjo Dilo (Tony Gatlif) from Transylvania, who will attend a public debate on 7th November about Rom people, a group of about 10 million Europeans living in most of the 46 member states of the CoE. The Festival will also award a prize for best screenplay and best "short film". The event is also sponsored by the European Forum of Rom and travelling peoples (Ferv), a NGO promoted by Finland.” “
