Condemnation of kidnappings and prayers for the victims. Yesterday morning, after saying the Angelus, Benedict XVI recalled how he is asked by many people "to intervene for people who have been kidnapped in different parts of the world". "While I reassert the firmest condemnation of this crime he stated I ensure you that I will pray for all the victims and their families and friends. In particular, I join the pressing appeal that has recently been made to me by the archbishop and the community of Sassari for Giovanni Battista Pinna, who was abducted on September 14th, that he may go back to his family soon". After this appeal, the Pope greeted the young delegates of the Italian Regions, gathered over these days in Rome for the three-year project of the Italian Church, called "Agorà dei giovani (Youth agora)". "I bless your path he said and I will be waiting for you to flock to the big meeting of young Italians on September 1st and 2nd 2007 in Loreto. At that believed Marian Sanctuary, we will experience together a time of grace, in the joy of faith and in the perspective of the mission, partly as a training ground for the World Youth Day of Sydney in 2008".
