Today, the last day of his apostolic journey in Turkey, Benedict XVI is going to meet the Catholic community in the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, in Istanbul. The liturgy will reflect the different rites and, because of this, it will have a "pneumatological dimension, as expressed by the celebration of the votive Mass of the Holy Spirit. Such dimension is related not just to the dedication of the Cathedral to the "Holy Spirit", but also to the very special structure composed of several groups of people with different languages and different rites, but all sharing the same faith, the same love and the same Spirit". The celebration, "both in the use of the languages and in the use of some ritual sequences, means to be the expression of the different components of the Catholic community". The following languages will be used: Latin, Turkish, French, German, Syriac, Arab and Spanish. Some ritual sequences will highlight the presence of the different Eastern rites: the Armenian one, the Chaldean one, the Syrian one. The entrance song and the Sanctus will be left to the Armenians; the responsorial Psalm and the Offertory song, in Aramaic language to the Chaldeans; the proclamation of the Gospel to the Syrians, according to their own rite.At 01.15 pm, Benedict XVI will be at the airport in Istanbul to fly back to Italy where he is due to land at Ciampino at 02.45 pm.
