BENEDICT XVI: MESSAGE FOR THE WORLD DAY OF THE SICK 2007

Despite the progress of the medical science, not all diseases have a cure, and in the hospitals and clinics many people are terminally ill and incurable. Add to these those people, and they are "many millions", who cannot have access to general medical treatments and for these reasons they are considered "incurable". For all of them, the Church asks for "fair social policies that can lay the grounds for bearing with dignity incurable diseases and even death". This sums up the statement made by Benedict XVI in his message for the 15th World Day of the Sick, which is to be celebrated on 11th February 2007 in Seoul, Korea, published today. (to be continued)
