” “The Holy See takes position on the building of a skyscraper adjoining the historical Roman-Catholic Cathedral of Saint Joseph in Bucharest, and asks "for a quick, satisfying solution to the delicate matter". A note published today goes over the affair, starting from last April, when the Archdiocese of Bucharest informed the Secretariat of State that a building with 19 floors above ground and 4 floors underground was being built less than 10 metres from the north-eastern wall of the Cathedral. Such fear is aggravated by the precedent of the Armenian Church that for similar reasons suffered serious damages". Since then the Secretariat of State and the Apostolic Nunciature in Romania have taken the "measures required" with the Rumanian Authorities.
