God is not "indifferent" to the history of humanity. Actually, He has a design of "harmony and peace" for it. This was said this morning by Benedict XVI at his usual Wednesday audience, which today was devoted to Psalm 144. God said the Pope "is not indifferent to human history, actually He wishes to put in place, with us and for us, a design of harmony and peace. The Holy Father went on. "All mankind is called to put this plan in place so that it will adhere to God’s salvific will, a will that includes all men, all generations and all centuries. A universal action that eradicates evil from the world and installs the glory of the Lord, that is, His effective and transcendent personal presence". God therefore is present in human history "to bring all created reality to the height of salvation. We added the Pope – we are not at the mercy of any dark forces not are we alone with our freedom, but actually we are entrusted to the action of the powerful and loving Lord who has a design for us".
