A cartoon to tell the European integration process. It is called "Drawing Europe: a new cartoon for young Europeans" and this is also the name of the project submitted by Europe Direct – Carrefour europeo Emilia to the EU Commission and adopted under the Socrates program Guiding Measures. The project, developed in conjunction with the Youth Centre of Haskovo (Bulgaria), the association Aesperando of Baia Mare (Romania), the Regional Centre for Adult Learning of Ganderkesee (Germany) and the House of Europe of Bratislava (Slovakia), will start tomorrow with an international meeting due in Reggio Emilia, until February 26th, at the premises of Europe Direct. "The lack of appropriate materials for children and the need to find an innovative and interesting tool for European students to learn the process of integration of their own continent – said Direct led to the idea to create a carton, drawn by the primary schoolchildren themselves". The innovative character of the project, which will last about twelve months, lies in its working method, which involves the local schools in the drawing of the cartoon: the students involved in the graphics will also dub into their own languages the soundtrack that will go with the pictures. The cartoon will be available in Italian, German, Rumanian, Bulgarian, Czech and English, so that it will be appreciated all over the EU. Info: http://carrefouremilia.crpa.it
