” “All these years, continued Benedict XVI, “the Catholic community in Ukraine managed to keep the holy Tradition alive in its fullness”. Because of that, the Pope gives a suggestion for the future: “For this precious wealth of the “Paradosis” to be preserved in all its glory he writes it is important to ensure the presence of the two big lines of the only Tradition, the Latin line and the Eastern line, both with the many historical expressions that Ukraine managed to show”. The Pope concludes that “the mission entrusted to the Greek-Catholic Church in full communion with Peter is double: on one side, it must keep the Eastern tradition visible in the Catholic Church, on the other side it must promote the meeting of traditions, by testifying not only to their compatibility but also to their deep unity in diversity”.
