"I rely on you, dear brothers and cardinals, so that the principle of love may radiate and be able to revive the Church in every rank of its hierarchy, in every Community and religious Institute, in every spiritual, apostolic and social action": this was said by Pope Benedict XVI just before the end of the sermon, during the solemn celebration in Saint Peter’s Square for the Consistory, as he added a comment on the ecumenical journey. "I rely on you he actually said so that the joint effort of staring at Christ’s Open Heart o may make the journey to the full unity of Christians safer and faster". The Pope made one last comment about poverty: "I rely on you so that, by taking care of the small and the poor, the Church may effectively offer to the world the announcement and the challenge of the civilisation of love. All this, I like to see symbolised by the purple cloth that you have been bestowed with". The celebration of the Consistory was attended according to some estimates by approximately 20 thousand devotees, including large delegations from the five continents, where the new Cardinals have been chosen. For Italy, in particular, they are three: Caffarra, Vallini and Montezemolo.
