It was on this occasion that the famous red wall with the "Petros Eni" graffito (Peter is here) made by an ancient visitor of the early Christian age as a token of the local devotion of Saint Peter, was discovered. "Peter is here. Here he made his profession of faith, sealing it with his blood said mgr. Angelo Comastri . The celebrations for the V Centenary only aim at highlighting this fact, in order to revive the devotion of the apostle Peter, so that we too, just like him, can profess our faith with new enthusiasm. The "Petrus Eni" exhibition will include the red wall with the famous graffito, while the "recent finds" will include a sarcophagus found during the excavations of 2003, portraying a praying figure dating back to 270 A.D. Next year, on January 19th 2007, an International Conference will be held in the Vatican, called "Saint Peter in the Scriptures, in devotion, in iconography".
