Today, the Holy Father, by granting the nomination put forward by the Presidency of the Italian Bishops Conference, pursuant to art. 30 paragraph 1 of the statute of CEI, reappointed mgr. Giuseppe Betori Secretary General of the Conference for the next five years. Mgr. Betori, born in Foligno on February 25th 1947 was ordained priest on September 26th 1970. Appointed Secretary general of CEI on April 5th 2001, he was ordained bishop on May 6th 2001.
