COUNCIL OF EUROPE: A CONFERENCE ON THE FAMILY AS THE "HEART OF SOCIETY" IN LISBON

” “Building the Europe of the family for the children’s wellbeing. This is the declared objective of the conference of the European Ministers for the Family of the 46 member countries of the Council of Europe (CoE), which will take place in Lisbon on May 16th and 17th about "Evolution of the parental role: children today, parents tomorrow". The focus of the discussion will be the new family models, the establishment of positive relations between children and parents and how to raise children without violence. In the two days of the conference, supporting measures will be outlined to help the family remain the heart of society. The opening session will be followed by three workshops, about family policies in the light of the demographic evolution, how to support parents in the interest of children and how to balance family and work life. The conference is part of the plan that was launched by the CoE last month in Munich, "Building a Europe with and for children".” “
