THE POPE AT REGINA CAELI: MEETING FOR PENTECOST 2006, “THE WEALTH OF PRO-CHURCH MOVEMENTS”; THE POPE LEAVING FOR POLAND

The Church is aware of the wealth of movements. It was said yesterday morning by Pope Benedict XVI as he recalled – at the end of the Regina Caeli – that next Saturday, June 3rd, the day before Pentecost, he will meet in Saint Peter’s Square the members of over one hundred church movements and new communities from all over the world. "I am well aware – said the Pope – of what their formative, educational and missionary wealth, which had been so much appreciated, supported and encouraged by our beloved Pope John Paul II, means for the Church”. In the meantime, Pope Benedict XVI is getting ready to leave for Poland next Thursday, "in memory of our beloved John Paul II". "We ask the Virgin – said the Pope – to make the apostolic journey to Poland fruitful”. Then, as he turned to the Polish pilgrims, he added: "I ask God that in these days He may revive and strengthen our faith. May His blessing always sustain us”.
