"In the spirit of the evangelical commandment" of mutual love, the Christian Churches can undertake two factual commitments together: one concerns charitable service towards the "brothers who are in need, whoever they are". The other is to promote a "shared plan of pastoral care" for inter-confessional marriages. Some proposals for shared actions ended the speech that this afternoon Benedict XVI held in front of the leaders of the Churches and church communities, gathered in the Polish Ecumenical Council. The meeting the last one on the first day of Benedict XVI’s visit to Wojtyla’s land took place in the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, in Warsaw. The Pope insisted on the "firm intention" he pronounced at the beginning of his pontificate of "considering a priority" of his ministry "to reinstate full and visible unity amid Christians", and this he explained because the Churches feel "the weight of the responsibility" of transmitting Christ’s message "to every man on earth".
