” ““When families are broken, when social relations are broken, the Church must care”. As he met the Polish priests today, the Pope noticed that “today the Church in Poland is faced with a big pastoral challenge: that of taking care of the faithful who have left the country”, due to the “plague of unemployment”, a “widespread phenomenon” who “forces many people to go abroad”. “Polish priests, do not be afraid of leaving your safe and known world to serve where priests are missing”, is the invitation of the Pope, who mentioned the “many priests and nuns who “serve not only expatriate Poles but also, sometimes in very harsh conditions, the missions in Africa, Asia, Latin America and other regions”. Benedict XVI concluded his second speech in Poland by entrusting the Polish people with the motto of his pilgrimage. “Remain strong in faith!”, exclaimed the Holy Father: “Be authentic in your life and in your priesthood. By looking at Christ, live a modest life, in solidarity with the faithful to whom you are sent. Serve everybody; be accessible in the parishes and in confessionals, go with the new movements and the associations, support the families, do not neglect your relations with the young, do not forget the poor and the deserted”.
