” “The issue of Bucharest Cathedral being threatened by the erection of an imposing modern building seems far from solved yet. Tonight there will be a satellite connection from the Basilica of Saint Anthony in Padova to the Rumanian Catholics in support of the cathedral. The Roman Catholic archdiocese of Bucharest is actually going through a rough patch due to the erection of a big building, the Cathedral Plaza, near the Cathedral of Saint Joseph. After fulfilling the required formalities and after the many protests hat have been conducted to stop the building works, the situation has not improved, actually it has got worse because the works are going on. The archdiocese of Bucharest asked a public relation agency (Bdr Associates) to develop an action plan to stop the building works and strengthen the image of the archdiocese of Bucharest. As part of the strategy, the agency launched the motto: “Save the values of Rumania! Now, the Cathedral of Saint Joseph!” The campaign began mid-May and will go on for a few months. Public initiatives include: giving the devotees badges with messages like “pro cathedral”; a street campaign for handing out leaflet in the public areas of Bucharest and other major cities.
