ANGLICANS: THE PLAN OF ROWAN WILLIAMS, TOWARDS "TWO CHURCHES LIVING TOGETHER"

” “A plan that would actually split the Anglican communion into two and could drive out the American liberal province that three years ago appointed bishop the gay pastor Gene Robinson and over these days wanted a woman as a primate. In a release, the leader of the Anglican communion, Rowan Williams, outlined a plane for the future, which would establish "two Churches living together", a central, more important one, composed of the dioceses that abide by the official guidelines of the Churches, which have no provisions for women or gay bishops, and another one where the rebellious provinces would end up.The Archbishop of Canterbury explains, in the release, that the relation between associate churches and central churches would be the same as the one between the Church of England and the Methodist Church, in other words two separated religions which are however historically bound to each other. "The associate Churches", reads the release of the Archbishop of Canterbury, "will not take part in the decision-making processes of the constituent churches, even if they will be "observers", that is, their opinions will be asked and their jurisdiction will be taken into account and they will be involved in some important areas of cooperation". According to the British papers, the solution put forward by Williams would create two separated Anglican currents and will be tantamount to a schism, even if no province will be actually driven out. The liberal or rebellious provinces have defined Williams’ plan "a mess".” ” ” “
